Exploring Seattle with Kids
We started our journey using Seattle's convenient Light Rail transit system. Parking at Tukwila International Boulevard is a great option if you're lucky enough to find a spot. We arrived a little before 9am on a Friday and were lucky. :) Our destination was Seattle Center, so we exited the Light Rail at Westlake Station and jumped on the monorail. Cool stuff.
We wandered a bit before heading into the Pacific Science Center. We weren't disappointed by the exhibits -- some really cool hands on stuff, excellent live science demonstrations, and a room where butterflies will come and land on you!!
Some of our favorites -- the giant connect four game, the tinkering area [Tinker Tank] with snap electronics and gears and other building supplies and challenges, and watching a "professional" explode a dry ice bomb in a big drum full of water. It ranks right up there with OMSI in Portland. We had a blast.
Before taking the journey back to our car, we walked over to see the International Fountain and got a little bit wet. When all the jets are on, the spray is massive!! If you're in Seattle on a hot day{!}, this is the perfect destination!
