My Beginning

It's been a long time since I studied history, American or Canadian. When I did study each of these in college, it seemed to muddle up into one confused international mess. I really couldn't keep things straight. Well, this time, I'm going to try taking it one small step at a time and studying one time period or one war for as long as it takes for me to understand it. I'm going to study the people of that era, read journals and fiction, study textbooks and maps, until I know it as well as I can.

My first book arrived today -- Saratoga by Richard M. Ketchum. It looks kinda heavy and is a lot thicker than I anticipated! But I've read the preface already and I'm looking forward to digging deeper.
